Law360, New York (December 19, 2012, 2:34 PM ET) -- British prosecutors said Wednesday criminal charges may be brought against those who post threats of violence or engage in stalking or a campaign of harassment on social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter.
New guidelines published by the Crown Prosecution Service establish the approach prosecutors should take in cases involving communications sent via social media, and are designed to give clear advice to prosecutors and ensure a consistency of approach across the CPS to these types of cases.
