Cox Castle Leads CalSTRS Into $500M Infrastructure Investment

Law360, New York (February 07, 2012, 2:22 PM ET) -- The California State Teachers' Retirement System, the nation's second-biggest public pension fund, said Tuesday it will invest up to $500 million in infrastructure assets, tapping an Australian fund manager to handle its first steps into the sector.

In what it called one of the biggest fund commitments of its kind, CalSTRS has authorized Industry Funds Management Pty. Ltd. to target core infrastructure assets like regulated utilities, power grids and other cash-generating, lower-risk assets in North America and Europe.
