Total Weighs $3.2B Gas Co. Deal, Fertilizer Biz Sales

Law360, New York (February 06, 2013, 7:13 PM ET) -- A day after Total SA entered exclusive negotiations to sell a French gas company for €2.4 billion ($3.25 billion) to a consortium of investors, the energy giant announced Wednesday that it is considering two major fertilizer company sales to Borealis AG.

Total has received an undisclosed offer from chemicals company Borealis to buy affiliate GPN SA, France's largest nitrogen fertilizer maker, as well as purchase Total's majority 56.86 percent interests in Belgium-based fertilizer company Rosier SA at €200 per share. The deal comes on the heels...
