Deals Rumor Mill: AT&T, Chinese Government, Ann Taylor

By Benjamin Horney (August 26, 2014, 6:06 PM EDT) -- AT&T Inc. has reportedly reached a tentative deal with antitrust regulators that will allow its $48.5 billion acquisition of satellite TV provider DirecTV Inc. to go through, the New York Post said on Tuesday. The deal, first reported in May, would bring together two industry giants who are focused on cornering the TV and video market across all platforms. The U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission are expected to clear the transaction in the first quarter of next year, according to the report....
