Deals Rumor Mill: Electricite, Banco Santander, Dodgers

By Benjamin Horney (January 23, 2015, 5:48 PM EST) -- French state-run utility Electricite de France SA is exploring options for its French distribution network Reseau de Transport d'Electricite, including a potential sale or spinoff, Bloomberg reported Friday. The utility has already met with advisers to discuss the "structure and timing" of any such transaction, which could take place this year, according to the report. The distribution network could be worth up to €15 billion ($17.1 billion), the report noted. The unit could garner attention from large institutional investors such as sovereign wealth, pension and infrastructure funds, the report said, adding that those types of buyers would only be allowed to make a deal if certain French laws are changed....
