Deals Rumor Mill: TransGrid, Alibaba, Apparel Authentic

By Benjamin Horney (November 23, 2015, 7:00 PM EST) -- Four groups of companies from four continents have made binding offers to acquire Australian energy distributor TransGrid, according to a report from Reuters on Monday, and the New Wales state-owned company could be worth up to $5.7 billion. According to the report, firms from Abu Dhabi, China, Canada, Kuwait and Australia are among the companies within the four groups, which were chosen as preferred bidders by the Australian government. TransGrid runs about 7,500 miles of transmission lines from one side of the state to the other, the report added....
