Law360, New York (September 29, 2009, 5:25 PM ET) -- In what they characterized as an urgent matter, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. on Tuesday told owners of millions of Lexus and Toyota vehicles to remove driver-side floor mats, warning the mats can lead to stuck accelerators if left in place.
The agency warned owners not to replace them with any other mat and said Toyota would soon launch a safety recall to redress the problem.
