Maclaren Strollers Pulled Over Amputation Risk

Law360, New York (November 09, 2009, 3:41 PM ET) -- Stroller manufacturer Maclaren USA Inc. on Monday issued a recall for about 1 million strollers after it received a dozen reports of children amputating their fingers in the stroller’s hinges.

The U.S. unit of the British company issued a voluntary recall in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, following rising reports of infant injuries.

“The firm has received 15 reports of children placing their finger in the stroller’s hinge mechanism, resulting in 12 reports of fingertip amputations in the United States,” the CPSC said...
