Law360, New York (November 25, 2009, 3:11 PM ET) -- ConAgra Foods Inc. is attempting to sever and transfer several tainted-peanut-butter cases currently stuck together in a federal court in Georgia, arguing the cases could be confusing to a jury if handled in a single court.
The company said on Tuesday it wants the multidistrict litigation, involving 68 plaintiffs allegedly harmed by salmonella in peanut butter, broken up and sent to the various federal districts in which plaintiffs reside rather than tried in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
