Law360, New York (November 25, 2009, 4:11 PM ET) -- Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. on Wednesday detailed its plans to replace accelerator pedals in millions of its vehicles based on the possibility that floor mats in the cars can cause the pedals to stick and potentially lead to dangerous accidents.
The company said it would modify the shape of the pedal in order to stop mats from sticking underneath the accelerator even if an older or "inappropriate" maps is in place.
