Law360, New York (February 04, 2010, 4:54 PM ET) -- After receiving more than 120 complaints about problems with Toyota Motor Corp.'s 2010 Prius hybrid, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced a formal probe Thursday into claims that the car's brakes sometimes briefly stop working when drivers hit bumpy roads.
Hours after NHTSA revealed the investigation, Japan's Nikkei newspaper reported that Toyota planned to recall roughly 270,000 of the cars to resolve the braking problem in the U.S. and Japan.
