9th Circ. Tosses Taser Wrongful Death Suit

Law360, New York (March 18, 2010, 2:50 PM ET) -- A federal appeals court has denied a bid by the family of a man who died after police stunned him with a Taser to revive strict liability claims against Taser International Inc. and wrongful death and negligence claims against Nevada police.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on Wednesday said a district court was right to dismiss testimony from a doctor for the plaintiffs who had no expertise on the effects of Tasers on humans, and did not err in granting summary judgment...
