Law360, New York (May 20, 2010, 6:39 PM ET) -- A jury on Thursday found R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. responsible for the death of a Florida woman's husband from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and ordered the cigarette company to pay $29.1 million in damages.
Connie Buonomo won a unanimous verdict from a six-person jury in a Florida circuit court in Broward County, according to a report from CBS News. Buonomo's husband, Matthew Buonomo, started smoking when he was 13 and died from the disease in 2008.
