Toyota Says Faulty Valves May Stall Lexus Engines

Law360, New York (July 01, 2010, 6:24 PM ET) -- Toyota Motor Corp. revealed Thursday that faulty valve springs may cause engine trouble in certain Lexus-brand vehicles sold in the U.S., adding to the automaker's ongoing woes over quality standards.

Toyota's Lexus unit announced that faulty valve springs in approximately 137,000 U.S. vehicles with V8 and V6 engines may cause abnormal engine noise or idling, and in rare instances could cause the engine to stall while the vehicle is in operation.
