Early Findings Of Acceleration Probe Back Up Toyota

Law360, New York (August 10, 2010, 8:05 PM ET) -- Preliminary findings from a government probe into reports of sudden acceleration in Toyota Motor Corp. vehicles reportedly do not indicate that electronic throttle control systems caused accidents, and more than half the vehicle event data recorders analyzed showed that drivers failed to hit the brakes.

The Associated Press reported that Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and National Highway Transportation Safety Administrator David Strickland briefed members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee on the investigation's preliminary results Tuesday.
