Law360, New York (September 09, 2010, 12:12 PM ET) -- A federal jury has awarded $21 million to a woman who was blinded and suffered a near-fatal skin disease after taking anti-inflammatory drug Sulindac, dealing a blow to generic-drug company Mutual Pharmaceutical Co.
Plaistow, N.H., resident Karen Bartlett is entitled to $4.5 million in lost earning ability and ongoing medical expenses and another roughly $16.5 million to compensate for loss of enjoyment of life, a jury found Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire.
