Senate Expands Whistleblower Protections

Law360, New York (December 13, 2010, 3:46 PM ET) -- The U.S. Senate has passed a bill that expands protections for federal whistleblowers, as well as which courts can hear appeals of cases brought under the Whistleblower Protection Act.

During a five-year trial period, all federal appeals courts — not just the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Federal Circuit — will be able to review cases brought by whistleblowers, according to the bill approved by the Senate on Friday.
