Jury Sides With Toyota In $11.5M Seat Design Suit

Law360, New York (March 10, 2011, 7:34 PM ET) -- After a three-week trial, a Texas jury voted 11-1 on Thursday to let Toyota Motor Corp. off the hook in an $11.5 million personal injury suit over an allegedly defective seat design.

The verdict, handed down in Dallas County District Court, said there was no design defect in the Toyota Corolla owned by one of the plaintiffs that produced the injuries at issue.

One of Toyota's attorneys, Kurt Kern of Bowman and Brooke LLP, said that he was pleased with the verdict.
