Law360, New York (June 17, 2011, 2:34 PM ET) -- On March 2, 2010, following alleged violations of the Consumer Product Safety Act, as amended by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a settlement agreement with Daiso Holding USA Inc., Daiso Seattle LLC and Daiso California LLC, under which Daiso agreed to pay a $2.05 million civil penalty and to stop importing children’s products and toys into the United States until it demonstrated its compliance with U.S. consumer product safety regulations.
