Law360, New York (January 18, 2012, 8:12 PM ET) -- A Wisconsin appeals court on Wednesday vacated a $1.5 million judgment for the family of a crane company worker who died of asbestos exposure, ruling that the plaintiff had failed to allege a connection between Pneumo Abex LLC's asbestos-laden brake shoes and the worker's mesothelioma.
The court remanded the case to the trial court, directing it to grant summary judgment to Abex, a successor to Abex Corp., which manufactured brake linings containing asbestos.
