BP Can't Keep Settlement Info Out Of Oil Spill Trial

Law360, New York (February 07, 2012, 8:26 PM ET) -- A Louisiana federal judge on Tuesday shot down BP PLC's attempt to exclude evidence about its Gulf of Mexico oil spill settlements from the upcoming trial in the Deepwater Horizon multidistrict litigation.

U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier agreed with the U.S. government, the plaintiffs' steering committee and Halliburton Energy Services Inc. that granting BP's request to exclude such evidence would be inappropriate, especially at this stage.
