FDA Finds Banned Fungicide In 3 More Orange Juice Shipments

Law360, Chicago (April 06, 2012, 3:53 PM ET) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has found three more shipments of imported orange juice that tested positive for the banned fungicide carbendazim, the agency said Thursday, bringing the total number of positive shipments up to 30 since the FDA started testing in January.

All 30 shipments that have tested positive — meaning the samples contained more than 10 parts per billion of the fungicide — as of March 30 have been detained or refused entry to the U.S., according to the FDA. Of those shipments,...
