St. Jude's Device Liability May Not End With Recalls: Report

Law360, New York (May 01, 2012, 6:11 PM ET) -- The failure rate for St. Jude Medical Inc.'s heart device wiring continued to climb after the company stopped selling it, according to data released Tuesday, a development that suggests the callback will not put an end to the device maker's potential liability.

St. Jude released a product performance report showing that the all-cause insulation abrasion rate for its Riata silicone leads had grown by 17 percent from November, when it released its last performance report, to the end of December.
