Calif. Tobacco Tax Proposal Draws Fire From Lawmakers

Law360, San Diego (May 01, 2012, 11:12 PM ET) -- A California ballot initiative that proposes to raise the state tobacco sales tax by $1 drew concerns at a hearing Tuesday that it could increase smuggling of cigarettes into the state and would create an independent panel without any oversight.
