Calif. Strikes $2M Deal Over San Francisco Bay Oil Spill

Law360, New York (May 09, 2012, 5:11 PM ET) -- California has hammered out a nearly $2 million settlement with the owner and operator of an oil tanker responsible for a 2009 oil spill in San Francisco Bay, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Pioneer Ship Management Services LLC, which managed and operated the Dubai Star, and South Harmony Shipping Inc., which owned the tanker, agreed to hand over $1.96 million to settle a lawsuit in California court over the 422-gallon oil spill.
