Judge Pares Chevron's RICO Suit Over $18B Pollution Ruling

Law360, New York (May 25, 2012, 3:22 PM ET) -- A New York federal judge on Thursday further trimmed Chevron Corp.'s suit over an alleged extortion campaign that led to an $18 billion environmental judgment in Ecuadorean court, throwing out multiple claims against environmental consultant Stratus Consulting Inc. while keeping in racketeering and extortion claims.

After tossing identical allegations against fellow defendant attorney Steven Donziger last week, U.S. District Judge Lewis A.
