Law360, New York (June 26, 2012, 4:20 PM ET) -- Alarmed by reported patient harm and sizable costs associated with human error in medical imaging and radiation therapy, two senators on Tuesday introduced legislation that would create certification and licensing requirements for practitioners administering such procedures.
Sens. Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., and Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, say their bill would ensure that patients undergoing imaging and radiation therapy are treated by professionals who possess “appropriate education” and meet various certification and licensing standards.
