Surgical Robot Injury Suits Against Intuitive Won't Be Merged

Law360, New York (August 03, 2012, 5:19 PM ET) -- The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation on Friday declined to consolidate four cases that claim Intuitive Surgical Inc. surgical robots caused personal injuries, finding the litigation may largely focus on individual questions of fact.

The plaintiffs in the four actions had argued that the cases should be combined because of their similarities as well as the probability of overlapping discovery and the potential for conflicting pretrial rulings.
