AstraZeneca Reaches $26M Deal With SC In Seroquel Suit

Law360, New York (August 24, 2012, 9:42 PM ET) -- AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP on Wednesday reportedly agreed to pay $26 million to settle South Carolina's suit alleging the pharmaceutical giant deceptively marketed its multibillion-dollar antipsychotic drug Seroquel.

Under the terms of the settlement, AstraZeneca agreed to pay $20 million in damages and restitution to the state, $5 million in penalties and $1 million in costs, according to a report Thursday by the Spartanburg Herald-Journal.
