Nestle, Wal-Mart Face Claims Of 'Fatal' Dog Treats

Law360, New York (September 14, 2012, 12:45 PM ET) -- A distressed pet owner lodged a putative class action against Nestle Purina Pet Care Co. and Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in California federal court on Wednesday, accusing the companies of falsely marketing and selling dog treats that cause fatal health problems.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has received more than 500 complaints from consumers who purchased Waggin' Train Chicken Jerky dog treats, but the companies continue to falsely advertise the products and make them available to the public in a breach of its duties and warranties...
