Law360, New York (September 17, 2012, 11:01 PM ET) -- Sempra Energy's San Diego Gas & Electric Co. on Monday agreed to pay $6.4 million to settle claims stemming from the federal government's costs related to 2007 wildfires that raged in and around California's second-largest city.
The utility agreed to pay $6.4 million to the U.S. Forest Service to cover its costs to fight one of the 2007 fires, though it did not admit fault or liability in the settlement, according to SDG&E spokeswoman Cathleen Romero.
