Novartis Escapes Long-Running Farmers’ Pesticide Suit

Law360, New York (September 28, 2012, 7:58 PM ET) -- Novartis Crop Protection Inc. has settled a long-running lawsuit brought by New Jersey blueberry farmers accusing the company of manufacturing a pesticide that damaged their crops, according to an order Friday.

U.S. Judge Noel L. Hillman noted the settlement in a one-page order dismissing the case without prejudice. A jury trial was scheduled to start Monday, according to court records.

Attorneys for the parties did not immediately respond to requests for comment Friday.
