General Mills Targeted Over GMOs In Nature Valley Snacks

Law360, New York (October 03, 2012, 12:17 PM ET) -- General Mills Inc. was hit with a proposed class action Monday in California federal court alleging it deceptively marketed its Nature Valley snacks as all-natural when they actually contain genetically modified organisms, in violation of state unfair competition laws.

The suit joins several other putative class actions filed in recent months maintaining General Mills misled consumers by marketing Nature Valley granola bars and snacks as 100 percent natural when they really aren’t.
