HMO Asks 1st Circ. To Uphold $142M Neurontin Verdict

Law360, New York (October 05, 2012, 5:19 PM ET) -- Health maintenance organization operator Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc. asked the First Circuit on Thursday to uphold a $142 million jury award against Pfizer Inc. in multidistrict litigation over misbranding of pain drug Neurontin, saying Pfizer’s own fraud had prevented it from introducing new evidence of the drug’s alleged effectiveness.
