Bollinger Scuttles Suit Over Coast Guard Boat Modifications

Law360, New York (August 1, 2013, 10:23 PM ET) -- A Louisiana federal judge on Thursday refused to revive a sunken lawsuit over the alleged failure of eight U.S. Coast Guard vessels that Bollinger Shipyards Inc. modified for $78 million, saying the government could have brought its argument earlier and unjust enrichment would be improper.

U.S. District Judge Sarah S. Vance had dismissed the government’s’ False Claims Act, common law fraud, negligent misrepresentation and unjust enrichment claims against Bollinger in January, but the government asked for reconsideration because it called her conclusion factually erroneous.
