Allergan Faces DOJ Subpoena Over Botox

Law360, New York (March 04, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Deepening Allergan Inc.'s troubles over Botox, the company disclosed Monday it has been slapped with a subpoena from the U.S. Department of Justice regarding alleged promotion of off-label uses for the popular cosmetic treatment.

The company said in a statement on its Web site that the DOJ and the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Georgia had asked the company to produce documents about promotional practices involving Botox for therapeutic indications.
