FDA Says Bisphenol A In Baby Bottles Not Harmful

Law360, New York (August 18, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- U.S. regulators have determined the chemical bisphenol A, which is found in some baby bottles and other plastic containers, does not pose a serious health risk despite earlier studies that linked the chemical to developmental and other health problems in humans.

In a draft report released Friday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said data that suggested the chemical caused certain developmental problems was insufficient to merit a change in the exposure levels the agency currently allows for the chemical, known as BPA.
