House Committee Gives FDA OK To Regulate Tobacco

Law360, New York (March 06, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee has approved a measure that would place tobacco under the purview of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The committee approved H.R. 1256, the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, by a measure of 39 to 13 on Wednesday.
