Cuomo Eyes Private Tappan Zee Funding After Feds Nix Loan

Law360, New York (May 03, 2012, 9:46 PM ET) -- After federal officials denied New York a $2 billion loan to replace the aging Tappan Zee Bridge, Gov. Andrew Cuomo is considering alternatives including using private financing for the $5.2 billion rebuild, according to reports Thursday.

Cuomo said possibilities for funding a replacement of the bridge across the Hudson River include partnerships with private groups that might finance the project based on toll revenue, though he didn't put forth any firm proposals, according to the Associated Press.
