Inmet To Back $6.2B Panama Copper Mine With $1B In Notes

Law360, New York (May 07, 2012, 1:49 PM ET) -- Toronto-based Inmet Mining Corp. will offer $1 billion in senior notes to help cover its portion of a $6.2 billion copper excavation project in Panama at one of the largest undeveloped copper stores in the world, the company said Sunday.

The notes' net proceeds will go toward financing Inmet's 80 percent stake in the Cobre Panama project, and will likely be complemented by additional funding through the sales of future gold and silver output, the company said.
