Law360, New York (July 09, 2012, 3:03 PM ET) -- Energy development on federal lands accounted for some $275 billion in economic activity in 2011, a nearly $30 billion increase over the previous year, according to a report the U.S. Department of the Interior released Monday.
The figure, published in the Interior Department’s annual economic contributions report, represents a jump of more than 10 percent from the $246 billion in economic activity generated by fossil fuel, hydropower, renewable and mining projects on public land in 2010.
