Shell JV Commits $4B For Nigerian Gas Capture Projects

Law360, New York (July 27, 2012, 10:30 PM ET) -- A Royal Dutch Shell PLC-led joint venture plunked down $4 billion on Thursday for two Nigerian oil and gas projects, completing its $6 billion initiative to slash continuous gas flaring in Africa’s most populous nation.

The infusion represents Shell Nigeria’s final investment decision on the Forcados-Yokri Integrated and Southern Swamp Associated Gas Gathering projects, both of which are being developed by Shell Petroleum Development Co. of Nigeria Ltd., a joint venture wholly owned by a Shell subsidiary of the same name, according to the second-quarter results...
