Law360, Los Angeles (August 09, 2012, 7:50 PM ET) -- Chesapeake Energy Corp. said Thursday that it's being investigated by the U.S. Department of Justice for possible violations of antitrust laws related to the company's lease and purchase of oil and gas rights.
The antitrust division of the DOJ's Midwest field office on June 29 sent subpoenas to Chesapeake requiring the company to hand over certain documents to a grand jury in the Western District of Michigan, the company said in Thursday's disclosures to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
