Senate Dems Unveil Bills To Elevate Geothermal Projects

Law360, New York (February 15, 2013, 6:34 PM ET) -- Senate Democrats pushed a pair of bills Thursday that aim to encourage new development of geothermal power projects on public and private lands through a combination of loans and relaxed leasing rules.

Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Chairman Ron Wyden, D-Ore., introduced a bill that would allow geothermal developers to expand development on public lands through noncompetitive leasing.
