Moody's Subpoenaed By Financial Crisis Panel

Law360, New York (April 22, 2010, 1:32 PM ET) -- A panel created by Congress to examine the roots of the financial meltdown has issued a subpoena to credit rating agency Moody's Investors Service for failing to to turn over requested documents in a timely fashion.

The bipartisan Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, created by Congress in 2009 and given subpoena power to force the production of documents and witnesses, said in a statement Wednesday that it was committed to using that subpoena power when necessary.
