US Needs To Improve Export Infrastructure: Experts

Law360, New York (April 29, 2010, 3:09 PM ET) -- Free trade agreements will be insufficient to boost U.S. exports if the nation does not improve the infrastructure connecting its suppliers to its ports, according to government and private experts who testified before the Senate on Thursday.

The U.S. will never be able to meet President Barack Obama's goal of doubling U.S. exports if it does not improve the supply chain to the nation's ports, witnesses told the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance's subcommittee on international trade, customs and global competitiveness.
