Medicare Stent Scam Cost $3.8M, Senate Report Says

Law360, New York (December 07, 2010, 5:09 PM ET) -- A doctor accused of implanting nearly 600 medically unnecessary stents manufactured by Abbott Laboratories — and allegedly receiving generous Abbott-sponsored perks in return — cost taxpayers $3.8 million in fraudulent Medicare charges, according to a new U.S. Senate panel report.
