Law360, New York (February 18, 2011, 5:46 PM ET) -- The U.S. House of Representatives approved a measure Friday that would prevent a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency appeals panel from interfering with Royal Dutch Shell PLC's plans to begin exploratory oil drilling in the Arctic Ocean.
The measure, an amendment to the Republican-sponsored spending bill that would eliminate more than $100 billion from President Barack Obama's fiscal year 2011 budget request, was introduced by Rep. Don Young, R-Alaska, and passed by a 243–185 vote.
