UK Watchdog Drops British Airways Probe

Law360, New York (May 17, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- The United Kingdom’s competition watchdog has dropped its four-year probe into British Airways PLC’s corporate deal discounts, concluding that there was not enough evidence of wrongdoing to continue devoting resources to the case.

The Office of Fair Trading closed the case without reaching a conclusion or defining the relevant market, after determining that the suspicions it was investigating posed little threat to consumer benefits, it said on Tuesday.
