Law360, New York (July 03, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently issued new regulations that significantly increase the agency's oversight of dietary supplements such as vitamins and herbs in pill form.
The FDA had previously treated dietary supplements as a special sort of food, but under the new regulations, announced June 22 and entered into the Federal Register on June 25, the FDA's stance toward them now has more in common with its stance toward pharmaceuticals.
